Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is his first trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced service.
He came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the final five games to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden professional title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
The opponent defended four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
